Configuring EWS Email in Outlook for Mac & Apple Mail
This article shows you how to connect Outlook for Mac and Apple Mail to your Web Wiz email account using EWS (Exchange Web Services). EWS gives these clients a native, Exchange-style connection that syncs your email, calendar, contacts, tasks and notes. We also recommend eM Client, a free, full-featured alternative to Outlook for Windows and Mac.
Your settings are located automatically by Autodiscover, so in most cases you only need to enter your email address and password. The full connection settings are listed at the end of this article for reference and for manual setup.
Outlook for Mac
1. Open Outlook. From the Tools menu, select Accounts.
2. Click Add Email Account (or the + button, then New Account).
3. Enter your full email address and click Continue. Outlook should identify the server as Exchange automatically. If you are asked to choose a provider, select Exchange.
4. Enter your details as follows, then click Add Account:
- Email Address
- Your complete email address, such as account@example.com
- DOMAIN\username or Email
- Your complete email address again
- Password
- As you have specified in your Control Panel for the email address
- Server (optional)
- Leave this blank – entering a server here bypasses Autodiscover
5. Accept any certificate prompt. Outlook will connect and begin syncing your email, calendar, contacts and tasks.
Note: If you see Unable to add account, check the fields above are correct, then try again entering your mail server (mail.WebSiteLive.net) in the Server field.
Apple Mail (macOS)
1. Open System Settings and select Internet Accounts (or, in Mail, choose Mail > Add Account).
2. Choose Microsoft Exchange.
3. Enter your Name and full email address, then click Sign In.
4. When prompted, choose Configure Manually and enter your password. Mail uses Autodiscover to locate the server; accept any certificate or redirect prompt that appears.
5. Tick the items you want to sync (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes), then click Done.
Note: If Mail cannot find your settings automatically, enter the EWS URL from the reference section below in the Internal URL and External URL fields.
